Thursday

Thursday in our house seems to have become catch-up day, which is strange since I am actually home all day on Wednesday. But I guess we treat Wednesday more like a weekend because Braeden has no school and we can either stay in jammies all day or go out and get lots done. Either way, I tend not to use the time wisely (read: cleaning). So Thursday has become the new Wednesday, as if that really matters to anyone but me. I mean it's not like I'm in college and Thursday is really the new Friday or anything important like that.

Today was a damp day with temperatures that felt much cooler than the rest of the week. As a result we ended up inside instead of soaking up the sunshine walking and playing outdoors. Braeden went to school this morning and I may or may not have fallen asleep on the living room floor while Evan played Wii and Maggie played next to me. It was a dark day and apparently I needed a rest. After going to get Braeden at school, we brought Stacy and Ethan home with us for lunch and some playtime. Maybe I should have used catch-up day going to the grocery store instead of napping because I actually had to run to the store in town for food so that the kids could actually eat lunch. It's a good thing I didn't try to pass off some goldfish and juice as lunch because those boys were hungry today. The kids quickly moved on to wrestling and arguing and Stacy and I stationed ourselves in the living room for triage. Not that they really get hurt or anything.. but we do tend to get some hurt feelings.

The biggest moment of the day was when Maggie managed to go from laying on her stomach to sitting up. Stacy was on the floor trying to make help her crawl and she moved her little legs around and was sitting upright. Go Mags! She never did crawl, but she's sooo close. Right now she prefers to move around in circles using her arms. It's pretty funny to watch. As she became more interested in chewing on whatever she could find near her, Stacy and I took to the computer to peruse Pinterest for projects that we probably will never do, but look fun. We spent some serious time discussing cake balls and even looked at a cookbook for those. But alas, we stayed right where we were and nothing was made, baked or created today.

Just because I feel like I should include some sort of catching up, since it's catch-up day and all, I did finish the laundry, well mostly. And now that you can't believe you actually read all the way to the end of this post, I will give you a break and stop typing nothingness and go see if I can turn some of the nothingness in my kitchen into supper.
